Directions: From Rte 6 (MidCape Hwy) take Exit 5 head north toward West Barnstable on Rte 149.
Go 1.0 mile and take left into West Barnstable Cemetary
Take first right and park at stone wheel

Capt. "Mad Jack" John Percival was born in the Scorton area of West Barnstable in 1779 and went to sea as a teenager.
He is credited for saving the U.S.S. Constitution "Old
Ironsides" from being scrapped. He took this ship (still a part of the U.S. Navy and on the "Freedom Trail" in Boston)on it's 52,279 mile voyage around the world 1844-46.
He died in 1862 and his remains are in this cemetary.

Clues to box: From the stone wheel pass through 2 cedars on the left near a broken slate.
When you emerge look right at 80 degrees for the flag between two slabs. Go there and visit "Mad Jack" a Veteran of the War of 1812.
Facing the monument look to the right 270 degrees and spot a brown monument.
Proceed to the monument and Makepeace.
Facing this monument look left for the orb.
Go to the orb and proceed to the green pump.
Turn right down the gravel path until you come to the "Crocker" monument on the left in between 2 cedars.
Look behind the left cedar. There is an opening in the stone wall. Behind the wall on the left by the tree is the box covered with leaves, twigs, and pinecones.
Please be discreet and rehide carefully.
