Finding the Ram Rock Letterbox:

As of April 12, 2006 our letterbox has been compromised. We will set it up in a nearby site soon.

Ingraham High School in North Seattle has a ram as its mascot. The three rams in the central courtyard were created by the artist in honor of three friends who died mountain climbing.

Drive to Ingraham HIgh School on Meridian Avenue North and park in the east parking lot.

Find the stairs that head East, down to the Helene Madison swimming pool and go to the bottom of these stairs.
At the bottom turn directly south and walk the length of the field behind the pool. You will arrive at a group of boulders sitting on a base of bark at the south end of the field. Stop there and look to the right where you will see 2 Douglas fir trees growing close together. Walk past them and also past a fir and an ash (rowan) tree growing close together.

How do you recognize a Douglas fir tree? Look at the cones. You will see what looks like the back legs and tails of mice running into the cone. If the cone has 'mice running in' it came from a Douglas fir tree.

Just east of these trees you will see the largest boulder in the area, which may have some white paint on it. Look under the north end of the boulder, pulling aside some living brush and some dead fir branches.

Please re-hide this letterbox well as it is in a popular spot used regularly on school days.

This is our first letterbox. We appreciate your feedback.
