After entering Milo McIver State Park drive past the campground and turn right into the gravelly parking area just past the campground. Park and walk to the easterly path at the end of the parking lot. When you see the pipe gate take a smaller path to your left, and pass between two trail sentinels. At the next opportunity take a left turn and you will be walking into a small clearing. Walk along the ridge while keeping the river on your right. Stay along the ridge and do not go lower. You will pass a waist high, 6 inch diameter stump on your right and in 24 steps you will step over a log. 8 more steps will bring you to a right turn where you will take 11 more steps to an old decaying stump about 4 ½ ft. high. From this stump take 4 steps at 210 degrees to a very shallow, low stump which holds the letterbox under bark and duff.
