When we drove into this area we figured that this area was crying out for a letterbox, so after carving one we hid it the next day. It seemed odd that the spot had no letterboxes, but after thinking about it there is a good possibility that someone’s mystery letterbox could be in the vicinity. We aren’t the brightest bulbs in the bunch when it comes to mystery boxes so if we encroached on one please forgive us. The clues are pretty simple, just drive as far northwest as you can in Oregon, park in area C, climb up to the observation platform, look for the small airplane on a pole off the east corner, and the letterbox is hidden under the nearest small evergreen near that pole. The letterbox is inside a large baggie inside a larger plastic container that has it’s top at ground level and is covered with tree duff and a flat rock. Hopefully this will keep the logbook dry and when you find it if there happens to be any water inside any of the containers please dry things out a bit.

When researching our clues please be aware that when previous searchers list “ATTEMPTED” on the clue sheets it may reflect more on their abilities as finders than indicate whether the box is viable or not. We do monitor our clues and boxes pretty well and appreciate the notes written to us by those that find or attempt our letterboxes.

Please contact placer directly or through the LBNA chat list regarding status rather than unofficial databases. Up to date status can only be ascertained from placer as other information services will not have current data. The placer does not appreciate listing information about this letterbox on unauthorized information services.
