Status of Mini-box:
The "Elmer" Mini-box is located in Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. Many other boxes are located in this park, so I will spare the park details.
Directions:
From I-45 North, go east on FM 1960. Turn left on Aldine Westfield, and go to stop light with park enterences on both sides. Turn right, and park by the visitors center
To the Microbox:
Use the map board near the entrance(or you could get trail map at visitor center), and find your way to "East Oxbow Loop" shown on the map. You will pass the bamboo section and the Tea House. Once you find the trail post for "Little Cypress Trail...Big Cypress Trail .... Primative Trail, start counting steps from the post as you go left on the "Little Cypress Trail and Big Cypress Trail trails for 90 steps. You should be next to a crooked tree that is hollowed out on top on the left edge of the trail. The mini-box is about 2 to 3 feet high, in the hollow, covered with leaves, needles, and some sticks. Please recover it well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
