There are several State Parks sites in the area, a couple of campgrounds, paddling, swimming, birdwatching and now letterboxing for entertainment. The little Gold Rush vintage town of Folsom is well worth a look. If you cruise Sutter Street stop in and say "hi" to my friends at Rainbow Bridge Jewelers. Please make sure there are two well sealed bags around the logbook.

To the trailhead:
The entrance to Folsom Powerhouse Park is between the Rainbow Bridge and Scott Street on Greenback Lane. The letterbox is five minutes from the gate.

To the letterbox:
Enter the Park (currently open Wed-Sun, noon-4PM) through the gate. Go to the first Eucalyptus tree on your right. Take the trail behind this tree down towards the river. Keep right. Just before you go down four wooden steps, go right on a small trail. Shortly, you will find a large, flattish, triangular boulder imbedded beside the trail to your left. This point of the triangle is aimed at at large, fern covered boulder. Eight steps beyond this boulder is another with a few fernson it. Look at the base of the second one for some loose rocks.

NOTE: The box contains the stamp but the wet, moldy logbook is missing. If you could bring a couple of good baggies and a replacement log, I'd be most grateful! 12/3/11
