Updated Clues:

Seek out victory on mulberry, with the river still in view. A little bit south, the fourth of three-eighths of an octagon. Have a seat on the wall and pretend to drop something behind you. Something looks like it belongs, but things are not as they seem.

Hunt stealthily, rehide carefully. There will likely be many people about.

Originally placed as an event stamp for the 2005 On the Waterfront Festival in Rockford, Illinois. The festival takes place every Labor Day weekend:

On The Waterfront is the biggest music festival in the Illinois. There will be live music covering virtually every genre on many different stages. Tons of other entertainment too, such as street performers, a kids carnival, rides and all kinds of food (I HIGHLY recommend the pork chop sandwiches). The price to buy a button ahead of time is $12. Buttons are good for the whole weekend. Otherwise, it's $14 at the door, which gets you a wristband only good for the day. Go to www.onthewaterfront.com for more info.

Original clues: As you roam the festival grounds, look for a monkey that sees nothing but purple flowers. That's right, a monkey. If his right arm were stretched out instead of up, he would be pointing straight at an octoganal "garden." Have a seat on the edge closest to our floral friend and take a look under what little plant life is still growing. Something looks like it should be there, but things are not as they seem.

There will be a TON of people around while you try to retreive this letterbox. Please be as careful as you can. Take the box away from the immediate area to stamp in, there should be alot of picnic tables around for you to use. Boxing in pairs or groups is also recommended so someone can block the view of you replacing the box.
