Antonio Vivaldi served as the “maestro de violino” at a girls orphanage for several years. Some believe this home was not so much an orphanage as it was a place for royals’ secret illegitimate daughters to be raised. Even when he was away from the orphanage, he continued to maintain ties with it. During one period of time, he sent two concertos per month via post. This is the third box in a series dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi and his immortal work.

Autumn is located on Lake Striker which is between Henderson and New Summerfield in Rusk County. About 15 miles west of Henderson on Hwy 79, you will turn onto CR 4255 and proceed about 3 miles. Turn right onto 4255A and go about .4 miles to where 4255A meets 4256. Continue to the left going approximately 1.4 miles to the Lake Striker Restaurant.

Park at the restaurant. There is a make-shift road between the picnic pavilion and a small temporary building. Walk down this road into Jubilee Park.

Cross the footbridge. Getting onto and off of this bridge is tricky because of the slick mud. Turn left and follow the shoreline. The lake will be on your right.

Walk along the shoreline until you come to the first group of trees on your right. The box is buried amongst the roots of the largest tree in the group. This tree is not straight, but bends a little on the way up. There are some thorny vines around the tree.
