GENERAL INFORMATION

This path alternates between a gravel path and mowed field. It runs through mostly open field so there is not a lot of shade until the end. If you're walking on a hot sunny day you'll want to have water and sunscreen. The path is an easy walk and toal round trip is about 6 miles. A good time to walk the path is early morning or in evening. We've spotted deer frequently during these times. There are also turkey back in this area, so if you have a turkey call you may want to bring it to see if you get a response. Also please note that portions of this path does pass through public hunting areas. If you are looking for the box during hunting season please take proper precautions to make sure you are visable to hunters.

Directions

Take St. Rt. 305 East. When you come to the intersection where 305 goes to the right, you will want to continue straight. McCleary Jacoby is the first side street to the left, turn onto it. Take McCleary Jacoby until you come to a stop sign. You will see a cemetary in front of you and a parking lot the the left. Turn into the parking lot and park facing the cemetary. The entrance to Turkey Run Trail is to your left by the boat launch ramp.

Clues

Enter the trail and follow it to the back of the cemetary. The path will split and you will want to go to the right to the section that is gravel. Continue walking the gravel path. It will eventually turn to as grass path. Do not take any of the side paths off the main path. Approximately 2 miles in you will see a bench on the left side of the path. When the bench comes into view begin looking for a small path off the main path to the left. Take this path to the left. This will bring you to a wetlands observation deck. Sit and enjoy the view for a while and have a little rest. When you leave the deck go back to the main path and go to the left. Continue walking the main path until it brings you into the woods. Once in the woods you will come to a sign on the right that says pulic hunting area. Just past the sign is a path on the right. Walk onto this path approximately 30 steps and stop. Look to your left. You will see a downed tree with a root base. Walk to the root base. The box is located in the back side of the root base covered with bark. When you are finished with the box, please be sure that it is well hidden once again.

At this point you may wish to continue on the main path further into the woods. If you do, you will come to a point where you can go either right or left. Go left and follow the path. It will bring you to a bench that over looks the lake. This is a very nice spot to sit and relax.

Once again please be sure to place all items back in the box and be sure that the box is well hidden from view. If you find that the box is not in good order or missing, please contact me at imdurangogirl@aol.com.

As always happy hunting!!!!!
