"There's A Wocket In My Pocket" was written by Dr. Seuss in 1974, and in it a young boy describes life in his unusual house inhabited by many never before heard of creatures. The story is meant to help encourage new readers to recognize common household words by rhyming them with silly names. This microbox Wocket has taken up residence in a rock pocket at Blue Hole Park. Blue Hole is a scenic lagoon on the San Gabriel River and is a favorite "swimming hole" for those looking to cool down a little bit in the summer. Even if you don't want to swim, it's a great place to picnic and see what's in your pocket. So don't knock it, come pick a pocket for a Wocket!
Directions:
Going north from Austin on I35, exit at Lake Georgetown/Andice and turn right on Williams. Turn right again on Business 35, which is also named Austin Ave. After crossing the river, turn right on 3rd street, cross Rock street and park in the lot for Blue Hole Park.
Clues:
Walk down Rock street toward the river and continue on the road as it bends left following the river upstream. Just before reaching the dam, look left for some concrete steps leading up a rock wall. Go up the steps and turn right on the rock path for 17 steps, paralleling the road. Look left for a tree near a rock wall 4 steps away. The camo microbox is behind the base of the tree under rocks and tucked up into a pocket of the rock wall. Please re-cover well.
