I have had to retire this box as of
9/3/07. A F1 Tornado went through the area and as a result, there really isn't any safe place to put this box at this location. I am sorry for anyone looking for it over Labor Day Weekend, but if you searched for it, you would have seen some of the damage Rome/Belgrade Lakes received and will understand.
This box was replaced on May 7, 2007.
CLUES: Find your way to Day's store. Center of town. You can come by car or come by boat and tie up at the docks in back.
Go inside this veritable general store and enjoy the smells. Grab a soft drink, coffee, or tea and, my favorite, a jumbo Whoopie Pie! Head outside and around back and have a seat at one of the picnic tables along the lake and docks. When you are ready to locate this box, walk over to the edge of the lake and follow the edge along to your left while facing the far hills on the opposite side of the lake. Notice the three large slabs of granite. What you are looking for is in front of the third large slab of granite. It is concealed by a smaller rock. You do not have to go onto the granite or rocks to find this box. You will find it just fine keeping your feet on the grass! Enjoy your beverage and stamp away at the picnic table. Think... "Gee, this is the way life should be!"
