I am sorry, but my letter box has been ruined by the wet weather. I plan to replace it soon. I'll post when it is replaced. I suggest going to Jay and Amy's letterboxes because they are one of my favorite local letterboxers. They have beautiful walks and sights. Sorry again!!

Clues:

The Letter PALs letterbox is located at the Plainville Athletic League (PAL) Ball Field. The parking lot is on George Street in Plainville, Massachusetts. Less than one-mile walk.

DIRECTIONS:

From route 495 take route 1 south to George Street (past a gas station on right and Tavern from Tower Square Restaurant on left). Take a right onto George Street and continue until you come to the PAL Ball Field on your right. Park at the far side of the lot next to the woods, near the green sign that says John Bowmar Memorial Trail, which is right next to the parking lot.

CLUES:

Starting at the head of the John Bowmar Memorial Trail, you will see two white poles with an orange cable between them across the trail.

You will walk down hill along a rocky path. There will be a narrower trail on the left that you will pass and continue straight on the main trail along side the ball field.

The trail continues down hill until it crosses over a small brook. Stop and look at the brook on each side of you.

Continue along the trail until you see a rusty pole on the left side of the trail. Take the narrower trail on the right that is 90 degrees to the main trail.

Continue through some small white pines and you will walk between a stone wall. As you proceed along the trail you will see much larger white pines on either side of the trail.

You will pass a dark silver birch tree on your left with curly paper bark.

Continue on the trail until you pass over rocks that are a part of a stone wall that crosses the trail.

Continue on through small white pines until you see a white oak tree with three trunks on the left side of the trail. Stop here.

Standing with your back to the trail, put your left shoulder against the trunk nearest the trail.

Look straight ahead at a large red oak tree. Go to that tree.

Look on the far side of the tree and find Letter PALs under a rock at the base of the tree.

Stamp in and re-hide.

Congrats!!!

Oh and enjoy the scenery. :)
