While visiting a farmer I know, I noticed a pig with a wooden leg. I said, how did the pig get the wooden leg? He said oh, that pig, that's some pig, that pig. When the farmhouse caught fire he warned the family and we got out without injury. That's some pig, that pig. And when the dog run off and got her leg caught in a critter hole, the pig followed and rooted her out. That's some pig, that pig. And when the river rose and threatened the barn, that pig came and found me so I could start a-sandbaggin'. That's some pig, that pig. But, I said, how did the pig get the wooden leg? Well, he said, a pig like that, you wouldn't want to eat him all at once!
Well, that's a fun story, but not the inspiration for this box. Rather, the "some pig" of the box is from the beloved story "Charlotte's Web"; it's Wilbur.
Go to the Hog Lake Plateau parking lot. Standing in front of the sign:
what you see
is good, eh?
use your eye
many are
standing on en(d).
In a bicentennial direction, just a stone's throw away.
