Update 1/28/07 It has been reported to me and I confirmed it that the Kameelyon letterbox has gone missing. As this series means a lot to me I have decided to retire the remaining boxes. Thank you everyone who went to seek them while they were active.

Recently I took a trip to visit some friends of mine. One of whom I have known for most of my life. We had attended school together since grade school, became aware of one another in middle school, and became good friends in high school. She moved around a lot after school and we both took our separate paths through life, but we never forgot the friendship we shared. We have been in contact off and on over the years (I lost track of her a few times), but with the help of internet we manage to talk more often now. She told me just after high school she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which, I’m sad to say, there currently is no cure. In our e-mails I’ve told her about how I’ve taken up letterboxing and how much fun it is. Sadly because of her MS she can’t participate herself so I thought I’d do the next best thing. This series is dedicated to her . I even made a stamp in her honor that she would use to stamp if she herself had been able to come along which is the first stamp in every book of this series. If you’d like to learn a little more about my friend you can visit her website at www.Kameelyon.com.
This series is very easy to find and all are drive up locations, but be very careful in retrieving and re-hiding all the boxes as they are all located in public areas many of which are very busy most times.
Begin your trip through my past from Neponset Street in Canton. You can get here from interstate 95 exit 11.Follow Neponset Street to the end and turn left onto Washington Street. Follow Washington Street to Sherman Street. Turn right onto Sherman street until you come to Pleasant Street. Take a left on to Pleasant Street and take your next left onto Independence Street. Turn right into the Dean S. Luce School parking lot. The school has change greatly since we attended so many years ago. In the Southwest corner of the parking lot you will see some trees, one of which has a flat rock just behind it. Lift the rock to find where Kameelyon is hiding.
After replacing Kameelyon where you found it return to Pleasant Street and follow it to the end where it meets Washington Street. Take a right on to Washington Street and follow it to Pecunit Street on your left. A short way down on your right you will see the William H. Galvin Middle School. Turn down the driveway and continue past the school building. As you pass the front of the school you will see a little cul-de-sac on your left. Park here at the far end. You will see a leaning white tree at the Northwest end of the cul-de-sac. Behind the next tree to the right of this one you will find Kameelyon’s lifetime companion and friend hiding under a pile of stones. It’s her cat Booker.
After replacing Booker continue out the driveway and turn left back to Washington Street. Turn right on Washington Street and continue till you get to Canton High School. Travel through the parking lot and follow the road leading to Memorial Field. Turn left and head into the parking lot. Park here and in the Northeast end of the parking lot you will see some large stones lining the parking lot bordering the forest. The center stone, a large flat rectangular stone, has My Favorite Witch hiding behind it next to a small twig of a tree. One Halloween she dressed as a witch when we used to visit her at Christy’s (now 7-11) in the center of town. It was then that she told me she practices the Wiccan religion. I’m sure that some people think that Wicca is kind of like devil worshiping, or casting curses and hexes on people, but there is nothing further from the truth. I have many friends who practice this religion and are great people. I’m no expert on it, but it is more a way of living in tune with the world around you and knowing how your effects on the world will also affect how the world effects you. Most of the beliefs people have about Wicca are images that led to the intolerance in Salem so long ago.
After re-hiding My Favorite Witch return once again to Washington Street and continue right. This will take you through Canton center. After passing through Canton center, but before you reach the Village Shoppes you will see a small park with a waterfall beside it on your right. You can park next to the to the waterfall. Go to the park and sit on the bench nearest the waterfall. At the end of this bench is a stone wall put in place to hold back the pond. Almost directly across from the end of the bench in this wall is a large rectangular rock. At the end of this rock you will find a Spaghetti Dinner. One visit she made back home many years ago I called her father’s house because that’s where she was staying while she visited. After a short conversation with her father the next thing I knew I was invited to a delicious spaghetti dinner! I chose this location because her father was living across this pond at the time.
Thank you for finding this series and always take time to remember how precious your friends are.
