Coincidence? - Just a Bike Ride Series, Day 1
The group of 28 bicyclists met at Haggar’s for breakfast before starting the 8 day tour. This was the first time that everyone met and there was a buzz of anticipation in the air. The tour leaders, Monte & Finnegan, prided themselves on offering a first rate bike tour. They arranged for the best food and lodging at each night’s destination. They also provided a sag wagon to carry everyone’s gear. They charged a mere $110 for the whole tour!
Following the tour map they rode 65 miles in the hot desert that day. Upon reaching Dayton that nights destination, they got their gear, teamed up with their assigned roommate and showered for dinner. That nights dining was at a top-notch, white table clothe restaurant called Patit Creek. However the restaurant was located in a house and could only accommodate 4 tables with 4 people at each table. So a leader, Finnigan, randomly grouped people into fours. Was it ‘coincidence’ that these 2 cyclist were seated together?
Among other things they talked about the days ride and of past rides they’d been on. The food was excellent and the company was very pleasant. Oddly, their meals cost exactly the same, yet different items were ordered. There is no great significance to this. It is barely worth mentioning. Besides, it may have been just another coincidence.
