Welcome to my first placed letterbox, the "I Like To Bike" box with a handmade stamp you will like too! This is a hike it or bike it box.

Clue Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: About 4 miles round trip on hilly dirt roads. For more biking adventure, there are multiple side-trails of singletrack for the intermediate/advanced rider. For more hiking adventure, there are plenty of trails for hikers-only including some nice elevation change and scenic views.

Pay-off: Nice pond view and opportunities for exploring and solitude.

Go to Leominster State Forest. From Route 2 take Rt. 31 South. You will pass the ranger station on the right where it is highly suggested that you stop and get a trail map. Continue south to the Rocky Pond parking area; the entrance is on the left about a half mile south of the main swimming area.

From the Rocky Pond parking area, go through the gate onto Rocky Pond Road. Take a left onto Fenton Road and follow to a short side path on the left that leads to Rocky Pond. There is even a sign that says "Rocky Pond", which you will want to stand parallel to while facing the water. Take 6 steps forward. Notice two pine trees standing guard to your left. Stand between these trees and take a compass reading of 225 degrees. Follow that bearing to find where your reward lies hidden beneath its armor.

Enjoy stamping in down by the water and take in the view of Mount Wachusett. There's usually plenty of wildlife to observe.
