**update 10/08/06** I checked on this box while I was camping. It sustained some animal damage and although the stamp still works, the original logbook was ruined. I improvised a new logbook.
Placed on 9-16-05 for the Mining for Boxes gathering.
Among the early settlers in the Kickapoo area were John Cox, an Indian fighter and scout during the Black Hawk War, and his wife, Polly. Both are buried in a small pioneer cemetery overlooking the former site of their farmstead cabin near the entrance to Campground Fox.
Clues: Enter the campground and look for the campground Fox sign. Go past the sign until you see a restroom with a corral next to it. The Cox family lies corralled here as this is their “family plot”. Go pay your respects to the family and calculate the life spans of each of the family members. Now turn to your right and follow the fence until you see a large "silver bullet". Walk over and next to the bullet until you come to the end of it. Turn to face the woods and walk in 10-12 steps. Look to your left and there at the base of a tree about 3 steps away you will see a concrete paver, under the paver is what you seek.
