No facilities, hunting area, good birding and a good place to look for butterflies
From Potomac, Maryland take River Road west to Hughes Road and turn into the McKee-Beesher Wildlife Management area to the place the locals call Hughes Hollow. Park in the first parking lot and walk across the impoundments past the grove of Spruce trees and onto the grove of Pines on the right. Follow the faint trail into the pines to the other side. As you are leaving the pines notice a small white steak in the ground to your left. A few feet past that steak is a large pine. Look to the base of that pine on the far side from the trail for the letterbox. This is also a good place to find owls. Look around you might find one.
