Chisholm Park in Hurst is located on Norwood Drive. This park features a pretty duck pond and plenty of ducks and geese and has been a favorite of children for generations. Enter the park and follow the road around past the pond on your right and the playground on your left. Just after passing the Aquatics Center on your right, there will be a parking strip on your left. Pull into the first available space you come to. Directly in front of you (NE) there will be a sidewalk. Take it to your left (NW) to the T, then go right keeping the fences and houses on your left. As the path meanders around the edge of the park, you will pass a large cedar on your left after which the path swings back towards the fence (ENE). Just as the path starts to turn right again, you will see a second cedar on private property on your left. At this point, you will leave the concrete path and follow an unmarked small dirt trail along the fence on your left. As you travel a short distance down this path, there will be a group of oak trees on your right. Just before the path takes a hard right turn (before running into another fence) there will be a large oak on your right. Turn around and go back 8 steps to the last tree you just passed (now on your left). Face that tree (S) and look for the rocks at the base of this tree. The box is well hidden in a cavity behind these rocks. You may have to feel around inside the tree to find the box! Make sure the box is rehidden well as this is a well traveled path!
Don't forget to bring breadcrumbs to feed the ducks!
Be sure to visit At The Pond, Allie's Duck and Welcome Home in nearby parks.
