With the able assistance of Bonecrusher this letterbox found a home in the Columbia River Gorge. The following clues should get you there.
to the trailhead:
From Portland take Hwy 84 east to exit 35. Turn left and go west on the scenic highway to the Horsetail Falls parking area.
to the letterbox:
Follow the trail to Ponytail Falls. Keep on the main
trail to the fallen teenager. From this point follow the trail at 310 degrees (magnetic) 32 steps to a gigantic dead octopus on your left. Proceed another 32 steps along the trail closest to the cliff to a rocky patch where a tentacle points the way. Take another 22 steps farther on the trail, turning left at the T. You will find yourself ensnared by the creeping tentacles of the live Octopus. The letterbox is to your right hiding behind a porous stone.
