Notice...The swim box has been reported missing. The "little house" has burned down, but the Fly box survived the fire. Imagine that! I've pulled the box to replant at a later time.

This series of three boxes (currently only one) was planted for the Girl Scouts Love Fitness event. The clues were designed to get Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts moving for a while. The boxes are orphans. Please let me know their status if you try for them.

Girl Scouts, although it is usually polite to use one troop stamp instead of individual stamps when letterboxing as a troop, you are welcome to stamp individually in these logs. However please let me know if the log books are filling up so I can try to make arrangements to replace them.

Directions: This series is in Tam O'Shanter Park in Kelso. Take the Allen Street offramp off I-5. Go East. Take the first right onto S. Kelso Drive. Go Past the Red Lion Hotel to the park entrance on the left.

Once in the park, stay to the right, passing the sports fields until you see the large covered picnic area and the play equipment. Park near the play equipment. There are restrooms in the picnic shelter but I don't know if they are always unlocked.

FLY:

Start at the play area

Head toward the baseball diamonds. Cross the road carefully!

Find the Shumari Oak tree planted by the Kelso Garden Club for the USA Bicentenial.

Go between the ball diamonds toward the huge stadium.

When you get to the dirt path turn right.

Go past the tree with the drooping branches.

Continue on the path as it crosses the water.

Look to your left for the "little house" between the two fields. (No, not the outhouse, the other "house"!)

Look under the "house" on the back side for your treasure. Make sure only the birds in the blackberry bushes behind you are watching!

HOP:

From the play area hop toward the river but don't climb the hill. Turn right.

Go past the soccer field and baseball diamond.

Turn right and carefully cross the road to the gate of the Rister Stadium. Don't enter but turn right and go past all 10 metal poles.

Pass the Joshua Hightower bench.

No stopping to buy a snow cone! Cross the road at the zebra stripes.

Go down the stairs with the yellow railing.

Go up the stairs by the tree with two trunks.

Head toward the Rotary Shelter but look on your left for the "dinosaur" tree

Look toward the river for the garden planted by friends of Joel Anunson.

Look under the brances of the evergreen tree nearest the plaque for your treasure.

SWIM:

Start at the play area.

Swim toward the river, but don't climb the hill. Turn left instead.

Pass the garden planted by friends of Joel Anunson.

Pass the worlds largest mole hill!

Swim (on the dirt road) over the water.

Turn left at the tree with the drooping branches.

Go between the ball diamond and the water to find a metal gate.

Near the gate is a cluster of trees. At the base of the living trunk is your prize.
