Last checked/found: 24-NOV-13 Added a second logbook to this 8-year-old box.
This box was created by our nephew Jake the Snake, age 9, for the Haunted Harvest Gathering held on 1-OCT-05. I'm posting the clues for him.
The box is in a County park west of the city. Park is located east of Townline Road, north of Good Hope Road and south of County Line Road.
There is a fee to enter the park. In 2005 the rates are $5/car on summer weekends and $2.50/car on summer weekdays and any day in the off-season (SEP thru mid-May). If you are a local resident you may wish to purchase an annual pass.
CLUES:
Here’s a story for you. 100 feet below you someone got buried under this big slab of concrete. He died in 1894. He died at the age of 87. He didn’t put his name on the grave so no one would see his name.
From the Scuba Diving parking sign, take the road at 60°. The road crosses a stream and then passes through a marsh area. Watch for an asphalt entryway on the right, it will lead you to an old road. Follow the road in and up a small hill. Go until you see a pile of rubble on the left. Keep going until you are almost to the giant fir tree. Look on your left for a large slab of concrete. The box is under the asphalt covered chunk, behind a concrete block.
Hike length: 0.5 miles
