I never saw a purple cow,
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow,
I'd rather see than be one!
Directions: Route 20 west to route 219 south for a little bit. Look for the brown state forest sign on the left. Pull in and park.
Clues: Very easy, short, good for children. Some folks might remember the purple cow but this is a new (better) stamp and a new location so I give you permission to count it as a new find.
Take any trail down towards the water. Upon reaching the wide trail, turn left and walk along looking at the many falls along the way. Keep watch for a set of wooden steps leading towards the water but stay straight on the original path. The trail will narrow and appear to disappear but stay straight and soon you'll be overlooking the BIG falls and cross over a metal culvert pipe. After a lot of mossy ledge on the left you'll see a quartz rock with the letter A painted on it. Another 25 (or less) steps will bring you to a very large mossy rock on the left with a "hunk" of mossy soil in front of it. This "hunk" is the root end of a good sized three sister tree that has all but rotted away. Go up to the right side of these roots and look (moving leaves aside) under a fairly large, heavy rock. Please replace carefully so as not to damage the box cover.
This cute little gem was carved by Cody B Cleo.
Purple ink not included.
Thanks for the visit.
