MISSING

This old school, now a sometime flea market, is characteristic of what school buildings in the 1930’s looked like. In the 1935 it was just the main building and was a typical “one room school house”. The addition to the right of the building was built sometime later. I know this because I have a picture of my daddy’s 1935 family reunion that was held at this school. Dad was attending the school that year; he would have been eight years old. I believe this is one of two one room school buildings left in Cherokee county and it is on the Historic register.

Directions

From Hwy 575 north, take exit 11, Sixes Rd. Turn left onto Sixes Rd. Turn left onto Bell’s Ferry and the school will be on the right in approx. ½ mile.

Clue

Park in the gravel lot, facing the school. Walk around the left of the building, to the back. At the 2nd rock piling, reach on top of the rock for the box. Be careful! There is a house close by with noisy, nosy dogs. They might wonder what you’re doing!

All the usual disclaimers apply. BE CAREFUL! Hide better than found. FUN IS THE ONLY OPTION!
