The largest member of the canine family, gray wolves (canis lupus) live in complex social structures called packs. These packs include the breeding adult pair (the alpha male and female) and their offspring. A hierarchy of dominant and subordinate animals within the pack help it to function as a unit. Currently, gray wolves are listed as an endangered species within the continental United States.

Wolf Hollow is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of wolves in the wild. The sanctuary supports a pack of grey wolves which may be viewed in their natural habitat via a viewing platform. For more information, see their website at www.wolfhollowipswich.com.

Thanks to Wolf Hollow for their permission to place this box!

(Note: This box is only accessible during open hours. Please do not seek this box when the sanctuary is closed.)

To find this box, make your way to Wolf Hollow in Ipswich, MA (see the link above for directions). Once at the sanctuary, seek out the wolf that does not howl. Perhaps it is silent in mournful tribute to the founder of this interesting place?

The box lies to the right and underneath.

PLEASE re-hide this box well!
