Originally a working farm, this DuPage Preserve has ties to a famous Kentucky event. Today wetlands, wooded savanna, fields and estate mansion are open to public recreation.
Use the entrance on the west side of the road with the same name as a nearby town.
Follow the Service Road north.
Chances are you may feel like a three-year old again. If you feel like running this is certainly the place.
Stop at the “Grove of Heroes.” Contemplate America’s extraordinary heroism, courage and sacrifice shown on Sept 11, 2001.
Be like a gopher and head toward the White barn. Continue east.
Find the great crested flycatcher guarding the way.
Choose wisely. Always make the right choice when given the opportunity.
Find the mighty warrior your path he will traverse, now still and silent. You've come to journeys end.
Take a moment and think how life once sustained this mighty one and kept him standing tall. This is where you'll find it, well hidden from all.
Please return the letterbox to its original hiding place, and conceal it well so others may also enjoy the challenge of finding it. If the letterbox needs maintenance or attention please let me know. Thank you.
