To get directions site and maps, check out the Becket Land Trust site (link above).

This is a real easy hike- at least the part of the trail you'll cover for the box. A word or 2 of caution: there are several derelict vehicles, lots of steel cable, old buildings, large piles of broken-up granite and other neat things that would be very tempting to kids explore and potentially get injured on as well as some pretty high drop-offs by the quarry itself. So just be forewarned. It is a pretty good hike for kids as long as you keep those things in mind.

bullet Follow the main trail, which is an old road, up to the Quarry Junction. At the junction, you will see an old, dilapidate building and a large tank. Between the two is an old truck. Follow the trail to your left closest to the truck that heads up hill. Look for Post #13, the Stiff Arm Derrick site.
bullet Standing at Post #13 to read the plaque north will be at your left hand. Straight ahead, at a 90 degree heading, beyond some birch trees, is a tree with a large chain around its base. Head toward this tree.
bullet As you approach this tree, to your left will be an old derrick pointing NW. Turn to look along its length. You will see to the left of the derrick a large block of granite with 2 railroad spikes sticking out of its left side and 2 bars pointing towards you. Head toward this block.
bullet Now look at the large pile of granite pieces to your left. One of these rocks is a bit darker and less square than most of the others. On the side facing you a hole was drilled. Look below this rock, where that drill hole would come out if it went straight down.
