This special holiday box will only be available for a limited time during Brookside Gardens' "Garden of Lights" display! It is available now and will be removed on January 9th. It can be found either during the day or at night. Entrance to the park is free during the day. The park is open surise to sunset daily. If you go for the light display in the evening(which is quite nice)there is a $15.00 fee per vehicle-You must enter the park in your car, and then you walk through the displays. Details in the clues that are in parentheses are clues seen mostly at night when the lights are on.
On to your quest:
Park in the Visitor's Center parking lot. Facing the front of the Vistor's Center,look to the right and find a Giant Caterpillar. Walk through the Caterpillar and follow the path alongside the Visitor's Center. You should spy a giant spider's web straight ahead. The path will bear right. Look for 8 deer near the path. When you reach them, turn left. Go a short distance-you should spot some white birch trees straight ahead. (Notice a rainbow of color up to your left.) Turn right and follow the path until you arrive at a pair of lanterns on either side of a walkway. Turn left into the walkway and follow the enchanted pathway through all of the lanterns.(There is a croaking frog in the fountain ahead of you.) Just after the last lantern, look for a wall about knee high on your left. Follow the wall around until you come to a stairway going off to your left. There is a Weeping Japanese Red Pine on your left at the base of the stairs. Take this stairway. Continue up the steps. At the very top of the stairs, on your left, is the gift you seek!
A bit further on your left you'll see a gazebo-that may be a good place to do your stamping before discretely re-hiding the box.
There's a little something special for the first person that finds the box. :0)
