"This box has gone missing" :( if you know anything about it please contact placer. We will wait one week and then pull the post if we do not hear anything. 9/12/2010

This is in the Kettle Moraine and is a beautiful area. Be forewarned, as this is a part of the State Forest; mosquitos, ticks, deerfly, and horsefly are native and can be quite bothersome during the summer months.

Find the intersection of County Highways SS and G. Head East on SS through New Prospect. Watch on your left to find a gravel road which is marked Horse Haulter and turn left (north). (*NOTE: We have been informed that the road sign is missing. Horse Haulter is the first gravel road which heads north on the east side of New Prospect) Watch for Horses & Riders as this is a Equine trail in the summer. Continue on this road until you see 5 metal posts on your left. There will be orange paint on some, one has camouflage tape with an orange band between. Park and head west on the trail. On the right will be an old basketball court with two metal poles still there. Continue to follow the trail past. On your left you will find the ruins of two old squatters shacks, but continue to follow the trail. You will come to another court area with more pipes. Here you will need to cross the court, the trail continues off of the right corner.

The trail then has a right spur, continue straight and down (295°). You will come to a spot where the trail has a spur to the left which leads to two more torn down squatters shacks (outhouses) but continue on the trail (250°). As you head down you will see a Cirucs type top on your right, the trail gets rougher here and is generally not mowed or groomed. Hidden in the trees ahead you will see the “stables” hidden in the trees. Continue down and from the SE post, take a reading of 200°, follow that heading 72 paces across to a wood pile. Look for the “Iron Wood” located in the pile and you will find what you are seeking.
