Difficulty rating: 2 - Straightforward clues allow this box to be easily found. May require some alertness to find the letterbox.

Terrain rating: 2 - Not handicapped accessible. Terrain is rough grass, relatively flat, and less than a 1/2 mile round-trip hike is required. Not suitable for small children.

** NOTE: The field is full of poison ivy, please be careful.

Description:

Directions:

Garden State Parkway to Exit 140. East on Morris Avenue. Across from Kean University.

Hints:

After the tour go out through the gardens and orchard to the open field in the opposite direction from the blue house. Find the small house in the South East corner of the property. From the Eastern corner of the house, walk into the woods 15 paces. Be careful not to trip over pieces of an old rusty fence (not barbed). On the right is a tree root that has erupted. Move the old piece of concrete to find a letterbox hidden under the root.

Background:

Estate of William Livingston, first elected governor of New Jersey, so popular that he was re-elected 16 times.
