“Let Freedom Ring”

Your adventure begins at a location in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The name of the location is an anagram of “Pearl Skunk.” Use the entrance marked by a wooden sign bearing the name of the location and the notation “540A.”

Once, you arrive at the location, head towards the playground equipment. You will notice that underneath the playground equipment, there is a soft springy walking surface so that it is less likely for children to get hurt if they fall while playing.

Look down at the markings on this springy surface, and go to the spot where you see the name of a community organization beneath your feet. Nearby you will also see a podium-type plaque which bears a list of names. While standing on the name and logo of the community organization, face towards the softball field.

Walk straight ahead, crossing over the walking trail, and going down and then up the grassy ditch. (The ditch was grassy as of this writing in November, 2005).

Continue to proceed towards the softball field, bearing to your right as if to walk behind home plate. If you pass a rusty trunk bearing the name of a city in Ohio you are on the right track!

Proceed a little further and stop to read the sign detailing the rules of usage for the softball field.

Solve the following pair of systematic equations to find the values of “x” and “y”:

x + y = 3
x + 2y = 4

If x < y, turn 90 degrees to your right and walk straight ahead towards the woods.
If x > y, walk straight ahead towards the woods.

When you arrive at the proper section of the woods, you will see a large pile of sandy soil, light (sand-colored) in appearance, and densely compacted together. It is a large enough pile that I’m not concerned about the elements eroding it away, at least not for quite some time!

Walk up and over the sand dune and then bear right. At the base of the thick tree, you will find that which you are seeking.

This box contains a small “bonus” for the first finder. All finders will be rewarded with the box’s hand-carved stamp! However, it is probably only fair to tell you in advance that it is my VERY FIRST hand-carved stamp and that this letterbox is my first plant. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN INK. I HAVE ONLY ONE INKPAD AT THIS TIME, AND THAT OBVIOUSLY STAYS WITH ME AND MY STAMP. Sorry for any inconvenience. I am new to the hobby and I am still stocking up on supplies. Thanks for your understanding!

I hope you enjoy it! Please let me know of your find and let me know about the condition of the box. Thanks!
