THE RED TAILED HAWK FEATHER

This box is a sort of Tag- A- Long. Find your way to Pleasant Valley by using clues to the other boxes planted in this Nature Preserve in Lyme Ct.

Pleasant Valley is a wonderful place to sit and watch for birds to show themselves.
If you have been to this magical place you know how to find it, but if you are new to this adventure, follow Flutterby’s clues via her SUNDAY MORNING CARTOONS . She will directed you right to the RED Trail and that is where I have seen a Red Tailed Hawk. His feather is resting there for you to find. Travel the Red Trail counter clockwise just as Flutterby directs, and after passing up through the Pine Forest you will arrive out onto a rocky knoll. Here is a small ledge on your left and many large boulders all around. Behind the ledge look for the large boulder that is smiling at you. In this big smile hides the Red Tailed Hawk Feather.
Continue on the trail down the hill and back out into the field to a great bench. Sit and enjoy the peaceful valley area and then either continue on for the other boxes, or go back on the blue/ red trail to the map board and then out to your car. This is a short easy hike pleasant even for children.
Hope you have had a pleasant time here .
