Driving directions to Fort Ward State Park: From the ferry go down Olympic Dr SE and turn left onto Winslow Way E. Turn right onto Madison Ave N and then left onto Wyatt Way NW. Turn onto Eagle Harbor Dr NE and then bear right onto Bucklin Hill Rd NE. Keep straight onto Blakely Ave NE and then keep right onto W Blakely Rd NE. Finally, turn left onto Pleasant Beach and then left again onto Local Road. This is only about a 15 min. drive.
Park and walk to the head of the Boat Launch. Walk to the water's edge and turn left (SE). Walk along the shore upon large and small rocks for approximately 1/8th of a mile. You will find yourself in a "fallen and dead forest." After you have climbed over a giant fallen tree or through it's secret cave, you will come upon our dead tree. It has 3 young trunks and 2 leaning trunks growing from it's base. Stand in front of the root ball with your back to the water. Follow the turqoise rope to it's end in a cave of narled roots. There you will find the "Pig Brothers" Box. May the Force be with you and yours.
