Status of Mini-box: Alive and Well on 8/15/06
The "Peanuts-Sally" mini-box is located in Waxahachie Creek Park, just west of Ennis. This park has camping, picnicing, hiking, boating, and horse trails. The lake was way down when we went.
Directions:
From I-45 at Ennis, exit US 287 Bypass (Exit #247). Go west 4.5 miles and exit at Bardwell Lake exit sign. Turn left onto Hwy 34 and go 3 miles southwest. Turn right on Bozek Road and go 1.5 miles to the entrance. Tell them you are just hiking. Enter and go left to the Upper Boat Ramp. Park west of the boat ramp in the parking area.
To the mini-box:
Go through the gate. Take the trail that goes straight ahead(west). At the 1st trail junction look left for 5 trees (group of 3 and group of 2). Box is at base of the group of 2 trees, covered with sticks.
