The Old Capitol has served Iowa as a seat of government and education for over 150 years. If you're looking for this letterbox, you probably are already familiar with this gold-domed building. For lots of great information about this historic site, visit http://www.uiowa.edu/~oldcap/.
Find your way to the Pentacrest in Iowa City, on which the Old Capitol sits. Walk down the hill toward the river along Iowa Street. Stay on the north side of the street. Note the black fence to your right. Just before you get to the railroad trestle, stop. A group of low-lying trees should be to your right. Scramble under them until you reach the fence. Where the black fence ends, and the chain link fence begins, the letterbox is hidden under leaves and pine needles.
Stamp in and cover the box back up when you're done.
Be safe and have fun.
