Begin your quest, downtown on Main, between Fourth and Fifth Streets on the river front. Around this area, you'll look through an archway at Montpellier, framing a distant statue. This is Clark, of the Lewis and Clark fame. He's calling back to York, perhaps telling him about the city across the river, named Clarksville. When Clark and York came back from their expedition, which way were they traveling? This is the direciton you'll travel too.
The stones at your feet tell stories of people and places. Find WIlliam Pitt's and the town named for him and keep going, even past the modern incline/decline climber. Take the steps instead, toward the riverboats. The first landing has a place to pause. The second landing is where you should - and not a step further. Carefully reach under the prickly greenery. Whoa!!! There's a letterbox in thar!!!
