This one is a short stroll and even wheelchair accessible. Bring your binoculars. This is a great place to watch birds!

to the trailhead:
From the South take I5 exit 306b. From the North take exit 307. Head west toward the Expo Center on N. Marine Drive. Two miles past the Expo Center you will find the parking area on your left. Park by the restrooms.

to the letterbox:
Pass the ammonite and head west on the trail. Stop at the interpretive sign. Note the high water mark from 1996. If the water level hits this point again, you may as well look for the letterbox in Honolulu. Otherwise, head down the main trail to the observation blind overlooking Bybee Lake, the last one on the right. From the foot of the steel ramp take a bearing of 90 degrees (magnetic) and walk nineteen steps to a tree. From this point take 20 steps on a small game trail to the right. Look on the water side of an uprooted stump. Happy Trails, Funhog
