This letterbox is located on a wooded trail in Norfolk. It is an easy hike with or without children. We placed it with our 2 year old and 5 year old. Roundtrip hike will take 30-45 minutes depending on stops to enjoy the waterfall/scenery.

Directions: Take route 495 to route 1A Wrentham/Plainville exit (exit 15) Follow 1A, past "Wampum Corner" (yellow ice cream place on right) to the center of Wrentham. Take a left onto route 140 toward Franklin. Take a right onto Park Street before Nicky's Restaurant. Follow for about a mile & take a left onto Lawrence Street. You will see a body of water on the left hand side before Lawrence.

Parking is immediately on left in a small paved area.

Clues: X the street to the worn trail that winds along the body of water. Follow for about 200 yards to a water fall. Stop and enjoy and get back on the trail.

You will notice the trail winds away from the river. Follow the trail and you will soon see a bunch of downed, rotten branches and trees on your right. The letterbox is approximately 70 paces from these branches. Some landmarks that signify you are close:
* logs dispersed through the woods on your left
* rocks (sizable ones) on your left

Look for a tree on right with a bulbous formation at the base. After this tree, turn right off the trail and begin hiking up the hill (a bit steep) about 16 paces. You will see a tree with a hollow at its base. The top of the tree branches into two with one branch that is barkless. Dog letterbox will be at the base of this tree hidden under/behind leaves, branches and a rock.

Be sure to cover it carefully so it is not discovered by non letterboxers. Enjoy and be sure to write us an email to let us know you found it.
