This is a hitchhiker hostel - a temporary home for hitchhikers!

If you have a HH you want to trade, feel free to trade one for each one you want to leave behind. If you don't have a HH to leave behind though, just stamp in and leave them there. There should always be at least 5 HH's in this box if everyone observes this.

When stamping in, don't forget:
1) stamp the hostel stamp into your log.
2) stamp the HH stamps into your log.
3) stamp your personal stamp into the hostel log.
4) stamp your personal stamp into the HH logs.
5) if you are leaving a HH,
a) stamp the hostel stamp into the HH log.
b) stamp the HH stamp into the hostel log.

How do you find this hostel?

First off, get yourself to the town that was once known as the Tomato Capital of the World.

The building that houses the town's Chamber of Commerce is named after an influential and generous family in town. The family also gave its name to an industrial park in town. Find your way to that industrial park.

You can figure out which road the box is on in two ways: 1)In the industrial park, there are three roads - two long roads and one short one. Get to the long road that has the fewest businesses on it. 2) Although this road doesn't have a street sign, it also bears the name of another influential family in town. A public school in town also shares that name. If you want to map the area before attempting, you can map Talley _______ Drive after you find the family name that fills in the blank.

When you get yourself to the correct road, find your way to the front of the business whose name implies excellence. Stand on the opposite side of the street from that business and stand facing their flagpole dead on (You will be facing North when you do this). When you are standing squarely in front of the flagpole, turn around 180 degrees. You will see several very large cedar trees. Be sure to proceed to the tree most directly across from the flagpole and search low.

Caveats:

People in the business you are nearest to know of the box's existence; however, you will need to have a cover story in case someone approaches you - here are a few hints: 1) the land is owned by the city and is available for sale for industrial development, 2) the cedar tree is very large and perfectly formed, so it would catch the eye of someone who appreciates such detail.

There are signs on the street that say "No truck or trailer parking any time". Unless you are in an 18-wheeler you can park on the street; however, if you don't want to do that, there is a roadside park at the front of the industrial park where you can park and walk to the box.
