Samp Mortar Rock

Springer Road, go to north end. Just before end is the 7 acre park on the left.

Take trail up hill. Turn right at the garbage can.

Keep on trail till you come across a series of huge rocks that have broken off the hill.

Have fun inspecting them. Go to the south end. Stand above the trail with the overhang rock before it goes down the gulley.

Look at 170 degrees. There in front of you is a large tree. (you have the right spot if there is also a large tree at 200 degrees that curves off to the left, it’s a little further away).

There are three holes at the base of this tree. One east, one sort of west and one sort of south east (it’s the smallest). The Snake in the Tree Letterbox is in the last. You can go up and over to explore more of the park.

10 minutes to find Box. Hand carved
