This letterbox has a hand made stamp, but bring your own stamp pad. As always in this part of the world, watch out for poison ivy. This is a short hike about 20 minutes.
This box is hidden in West Lake Park, located just west of Davenport. From I-280, take Hwy. 61 South to county road Y-48, turn right. Enter West Lake Park at Gate 4.
There’s a forest where children play and learn about trees.
High above these special trees flies old glory, for all to see.
From the pole with an eagle, there’s a tree whose bark pales among all others.
North and down the hill from the beautiful pale tree is a path leading left.
There’s a fork, what to do? Right is right and left is wrong.
Come to the water’s edge to catch a fish. Did you forget a pole?
Turn around and in the woods you’ll see a hollow tree.
Hanging inside the tree is a pole and a pail for you.
