Nearly a drive-by

Makapu'u Beach Park is across the street from Sea Life Park, and this is where The Bus stop is. Restroom and picnic areas are available at the beach.

Park down in the paved lot of the beach park. Northwestward is a dirt lot. Walk through this lot to the other end with a cement barrier. From the barrier, just ahead are two circular, black lava rock-lined “shrines.” The left one includes a tree. Go and stand between these two areas. Straight ahead, northward is another black lava rock cluster. Go to this cluster and stand in the middle of it on a very large flat, ground level rock. Face the ocean. Look down to the right, just a few steps away to a black rock hanging out to the right. There is a sort of triangular rock off to the right of it, with the tip 3-4 inches away. And left tip to right on a rock in front of the hanging one. The triangular rock forms a “den” with these other rocks. Sit on the triangular rock with your feet in this “den.” Now you will see over the rocks in front of you. Rabbit Island to the right (west). Reach down and remove small rocks under neighboring rock on the left.

Please be discreet and re-hide with lots of rocks – enough to hide at all angles. This “little” guy waits for his humpbacked friends to return each winter.
