Check out the Sappony Nations letterbox for directions to Mayo Park.
On Neals Store Road drive pass the Mayo Park Main entrance, keep driving until you get to the end of the road, you will be at the boat launch. Park in the trail parking area.
Start your short hike close to the restrooms, take the Wild Turkey Trail (orange) at the forks take a right (Wild Turkey Trail and Lake View Trail (grey) run together. You will be walking with the lake on your left. Very shortly the lake will end and you will start up a small hill, now look to your left just off the trail for a tree shaped like a backwards letter L. You will find what you are looking for under the L.
Please let me know that you found my letterbox.
Would you believe that there is a graveyard on the Bridge Trail Loop? One day soon I will have to plant a box there. It's such an interesting little grave yard and so unexpected.
