Other:
Your journey for this LB includes scenic overviews of the Missouri River, excellent hiking alongside some bluffs, a wet-season waterfall, and the handiwork of a dedicated trail-builder. This LB is in close proximity to excellent wining-and-dining options. Be sure to enjoy the delights of historic Rocheport: antique shops, railroad tunnels, bike rentals, and more.

CLUES:
You’ll need to take a Twisted Path* measuring 10 feet wide 20 feet long to find this LB. I recommend the following route:

Down the first column, up the next, down the third, up the next, etc. If you do it correctly, the first row will read: R O C H E P O R T M

ROOAR OSINR BSPCS TLRBH OOGDO CKAPE
KKLNT VLILO CESKI RALTN NRSTE SEEUN
RLSRM SRSID EESKA CABSH EBILE IEIRA
SNSAU ANLDI GEAEL PCIGT RRDDL ROSOP
OUTNO HOEYL ODGKH LANRH TBTRB I1NOP
ARTWE AGRRR TGOSD ANHOS ANB2L OLEOX
YTDAU LPATT TAAHD TEWEM

When you’ve solved the encryption, follow these instructions:

LB is under the lower, riverside end of the big boulder on the right, guarded by a flat rock. Please replace rocks and rehide well to prevent theft, vandalism, animal mischief or forces of nature from destroying the box.

You may stamp in at a nearby bench with view of the river. Please be discreet as final location is visible from the main trail, especially in fall and winter. This is a popular section of trail, especially when the weather is nice. Please re-hide well so that box is not visible.

If you feel like visiting historic Rocheport, head to main trail, turn right and hike one mile west along the river to Katy Depot and Trailside Cafe. Abigail's, at 206 central Street-- four blocks west and one more north) is a great place to eat.

If you would like a cipher-lesson plan that explains how to decode many of the ciphers used in mid-Missouri letterboxing, please e-mail me using the "Contact the Placer" link.
