05/16/11 Confirmed in place.
This LB is part of the nine-box "Five Star Drinks" series. For a full explanation of the series, see "Five Star Drinks: Herbal Tonic."

Now onto the clues...

Compass: Recommended
Ink: Bring-Your-Own-Ink letterbox. I recommend something in earth tones.
Pace: One pace = two steps.
Length / Terrain: About 1/2 mile round-trip mostly though fields. Beware of ticks and chiggers.
Decryption Instructions: See “Five Star Drinks: Herbal Tonic.”
Other: Here’s an excellent place to take your sweetheart, especially if you like star gazing: A nice short hike with a blend of fields and woods, and far enough away from the city lights to get in some excellent night sky watching. Beware of dogs that may chase your vehicle on the way to the parking site. The day (or rather, night) I planted this box, one big, friendly dog hiked partway with me, and kept the other dogs at bay.

CLUES:
As you’ll be hiking along some fence line, it will pay to apply a Rail Fence* to mend the following clue (dotted line below delineates halfway point):

FOHY3 AEOTH OADNL WOLFO

Climb over gate. You’ll see a fenced enclosure east across the grass with a field going around both the left and right sides. Head left (NE) and cross field to corner fence post. Turn right at this corner and follow fence line SE. At next corner, turn right and follow fence SW to concrete 15-2. Turn left. Continue to follow fence then travel along wide bend in tree line. Do not enter woods.

Go around bend. As you follow the tree line, you’ll see a skinny V-shaped tree at end of next slight bend, then several fallen logs laying SW-NE. Quickly, pass a cedar, a large-trunked tree, then another cedar, then a fallen tree leaning against another tree, then two small cedars to a small triple-trunked tree.

From the triple-trunked tree, head into woods five steps to the remains of a tree base at the foot of a fallen tree. LB is inside. Please replace bark and leaves and re-hide well to prevent theft, vandalism, animal mischief or forces of nature from destroying the box. Be sure to look at tree base from several angles to make sure box is not visible.
