Travelling south on Rt 209 from Hot Springs about 7 miles take a right to Garenflo Gap. Go straight and continue on the gravel road until you reach the parking area.
There is a fork in the Appalachian Trail and it is best if you go left until you meet the Shut in Trail marker, continue left on the AT about 80 to 90 paces and on your left will be a stump with moss and small ferns. The real AT prize is tucked away in the back.
