Terrain Difficulty: Easy (flat, 200 yards RT)
Recommended Ink: brown, blue, green & yellow
Status: alive
This box is dedicated to one of Texas' most beloved letterboxers; Barefoot Lucy.
Besides being a Den Mother to her own Scouts, she still finds time to function as owner and moderator of the TX Talklist and manages to keep us in line. With her sage advice, humorous tales and encouraging attitude, we think of her as our Den Mother, too. You can find this minibox in her home town at Nichols Green Park. Barefoot Lucy, we salute you!
Directions:
From Rusk, take Hwy 69 north until you get to the restaurant Chubby's on the right side. Turn right on Beaumont street, then right onto Andrew Street. You will pass a sign for Nichols Green and you will see the skateboard park on your right. Continue until you reach the stop sign, then take a right. Follow the curve to your left and you will see the park on your right. Park by the playground.
Clues:
From the playground, walk south at 170 across an open field for about 100 yards to the edge of the woods. Find a large dead tree laying north/south and walk 7 steps down its right side. The camo minibox is in the second crotch of branches under a large stick. Please re-cover well.
