"The Lion King" mini-box is located in Rusk State Park, near the Texas State Railroad. It was placed during the Spring 2006 - 3rd Annual Letterboxing Event. See "Texas RR 2 for more details on the park.
Directions:
From Rush, go west on Hwy 84. In about 3 miles, turn left at brown sign for park entry (you will see railroad grades going to the sky). Follow the park road to the railway station and park in this lot.
To the Mini-box:
Walk over to the pavillion near the lake. Behind it, tak the trail going around the lake, going past the spillway drain and on to the far end of the lake. Go right along smaller trail (will have trash can on the right) until you reach the water and a barbed wire fence. Go around the fence and count 14 steps as you go along the water's edge. Turn left and go up the hill to the pine tree. The mini-box in at base of back side of this tree, covered with sticks. Please re-hide it well!
