Difficulty: Easy
Distance to Letterbox: About 1/2 mile (one way)

Status of Letterbox: Alive and Well on 9/15/08

This letterbox is located in Stephen F. Austin Experimental Forest on the Jack Creek Loop Trail (as well as 2 other letterboxes). See "Sam I Am" box for more details on park.

Directions:
From Nacogdoches, Go west 6.5 miles from Loop 224 on Hwy 7 to FM 2782. Turn left (south) and go about 2.4 miles to the Forest Enterance on the right. Follow signs to the trail parking area.

To the Letterbox:
Walk the boardwalk on the left to the trail sign and sitting area. Go left on cement path. You will cross 3 bridges, and eventually come to a bench on a hill with an "I" wood marker on the far side (if you get to the gravel road you have just past the bench). Form the bench, go north at 15 degrees for 12 steps to the pine tree. The box is on the back side at the base, covered with sticks. Please re-cover it well.
