Badger's Burrow LbNA #20971

This park is a well-kept secret. No signs will guide your way and no one I asked in Des Moines had ever heard of it. It's a tranquil spot, off the beaten path.

Travel on I-35 to exit 65, about ten miles south of Des Moines . From here, go west on
Cumming Road. At the first bend in the road, leave the pavement and continue on gravel west on G14 to a T with Badger Creek Road. Turn right and go to the first left, the entrance to Badger Creek Recreation Area. Park near the boat ramp.

Gazing Southeast you will see an earthen wall stemming the flow. Stroll
to its elbow and look left. You will find The Badger's Burrow along the
perimeter of a bosky grove where a slender slab meets fallen wood.
